Selecting the correct projection

Getting the correct projection on your curtain rods is very important. We are asked several times everyday about this issue. It is first important to consider where you are installing your curtain rods. If you are wall mounting your rods and you have any other type of window treatment that is sticking out from the window you will most likely need a longer than standard projection. Standard projections range from 2 inches to 4 inches.

A good example of when to use a longer projection would be...You have a wood blind that is mounted on the outside of the window frame. It projects out from the wall 3 1/2", you want to mount a wood pole and need to clear this blind. Your bracket projection should be at least 5 1/2".

A common mistake is when the longer projection bracket is selected when it is not needed. We have a lot of drapery hardware items where the projection of the brackets may differ. If you have any confusion please call us toll free at 1.866.375.4500 for our professional advice.
